Doing a little Catching Up

So, the last blog post I made was in 2015. So much has changed in the past 10 years!

Unfortunately, we sold our dairy herd. And said goodbye to our cheese business. But wow, what an experience we had!

My husband has since taken a job in our local school district at the Tech School. I worked at our local restaurant for 15 years +/-.

As of last year, October 2024, I have stepped back, gave myself some time off from the nonstop schedule, and decided to go further with something I have been passionate about since I was 10 years old. Photography.

I am self taught, so lots of trial and error. Lots of books, Pinning info on Pinterest, and YouTube videos. But, most of my experience has been just getting out there with my camera.

I started out with a $5 Kodak 35mm film camera. With flash cubes. Poor camera didn't do the best job, but my 10 year old self was thrilled with my yard sale find. Those were the days of having only 24 pictures on each roll of film. Then, send it out at a local store. Hoping to get some decent pictures. Wait about a week, pick them up, and in my case, maybe find that 5 or 6 photos even turned out. I definitely appreciate my digital Canon every time I use it.

That is my short catch up of the last 10 years. From here on out my blog will be focused on my photography. Primarily nature. And even though we no longer milk cows, we do still have a few Jerseys and a Brown Swiss named Dolly. Our livestock is very photogenic.
